An only child who lost his father and mother from an early age, Lawson is a cynical, jaded, anti-hero. He's followed the rules for a long time, but is unsure of his role in the universe beyond what he was seemingly divinely chosen to do: be a Fixer. As his missions have taken him all over the world and exposed him to a wide range of people and races, Lawson struggles to come to grips with his job and the laws he is sworn to uphold.
